April 11: Danger in Being Young and Fair (Vol. 19, pp. 115-131)
In today's selection from Goethe's "Faust," our hero is totally smitten by the lovely young Margaret. With Satan's help, Faust whips out a box of dazzling gems that melts Margaret's heart. Mildly interesting.
I have been involved in broadcast, print and online media in New England for nearly three decades.
Currently, I am the chief editorial writer at the Brattleboro (Vt.) Reformer.
I have also been a regular contributor since 1996 to The American Reporter, the first online-only daily newspaper in America.
I am a 1983 graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and 1997 graduate of Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government. I was also an infantry sergeant in the Massachusetts Army National Guard from 1981 until 1987.
