March 25: How Conscience Makes Cowards of Us All (Vol. 46, pp. 144-158)
Here's an odd commemoration. On this day in 1616, Shakespeare drew up his will (no pun intended). To mark this occasion, we get one of the most famous passages in drama -- the "To Be or Not To Be" soliloquy from "Hamlet."
I have been involved in broadcast, print and online media in New England for nearly three decades.
Currently, I am the chief editorial writer at the Brattleboro (Vt.) Reformer.
I have also been a regular contributor since 1996 to The American Reporter, the first online-only daily newspaper in America.
I am a 1983 graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and 1997 graduate of Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government. I was also an infantry sergeant in the Massachusetts Army National Guard from 1981 until 1987.
