September 13: Good That Came From a Game Pit (Vol. 15, pp. 13-23)
John Bunyan was liberated from prison and pardoned on this day in 1672. Many English literature majors would argue that he should have stayed in prison as penance for writing "Pilgrim's Progress."
I have been involved in broadcast, print and online media in New England for nearly three decades.
Currently, I am the chief editorial writer at the Brattleboro (Vt.) Reformer.
I have also been a regular contributor since 1996 to The American Reporter, the first online-only daily newspaper in America.
I am a 1983 graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and 1997 graduate of Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government. I was also an infantry sergeant in the Massachusetts Army National Guard from 1981 until 1987.
